MEETING PEOPLE WHERE THEY ARE
Thank you for your time and interest in JJ WOLFF COUNSELING SERVICES. a sole proprietor owned "mobile" counseling practice.
All of the provided services are empirically based and focus specifically on helping those exposed to personal and workplace trauma. Exposure to traumatic events can impact us physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. It can significantly alter our view of the world and ourselves. Trust, safety and predictability are usually the most impacted areas. While humans are impacted, it does not mean they are "broken" and need to be fixed. The key to recovery is understanding and managing the "consequences of survival". Our balance usually is disrupted, and the level of stress on the mind and body is significantly increased . Learning to manage the changes, symptoms, and behaviors that occur as a result of traumatic exposure are defined as post traumatic growth. Understanding that traumatic events often effect all of our senses , including the brain, is vital. Regaining some sense of normalcy through developing perspective and healthy coping mechanisms are core treatment goals.
JJ WOLFF COUNSELING SERVICES is prepared to assist individuals, groups, organizations and communities in the areas of Disaster Management, Critical Incident Stress Management, Organizational Resiliency Traumatic Loss/Grief, Humanitarian Assistance and Risk Assessments (Workplace Violence Prevention).
A step to step recovery format is outlined with human resource personnel, global crisis security firms, crisis communication and legal experts to insure that services cover all bases and are individualized based on need. Together, we strive to put the pieces of the puzzle back together should the 'unthinkable" happen. The impact can be devastating, however, human beings have the inate ability to survive and grow through receiving immediate help and support. Research shows that a huge percentage of those exposed to traumatic events return to a "new normal" with an enhanced sense of self awareness of their own strength. My hand is outstretched with both a listening ear and an open heart. Finding and regaining quality of life is achievable and you are not alone on your journey.
